Welcome to Ed-Fund

The Bollinger Canyon Education Fund, working in collaboration with the PTA, Site Council and Staff perform a vital function in raising funds that are essential to creating an effective learning environment for all students.

Dear New and Returning Parents,

Welcome and welcome back. To those of you new to Bollinger, we look forward to welcoming you to our community.

The Bollinger Canyon Education Fund (BCEF) works in collaboration with the PTA, Site Council and Bollinger Canyon Staff to raise vital funding to enhance and improve the educational environment for all students at Bollinger. To all of you who financially support and volunteer with our Education Fund, we thank you for all you do. Your generosity allows us to provide our children with essential educational resources and enrichment programs that exist only because of your support.

The purpose of our Education Fund is to provide supplemental financial support to our school that the district and the state do not for programs we consider essential to our children’s education. Specifically, we pay the San Ramon Valley Unified School District to employ in-class Teachers Aides in every classroom; in addition, we pay for our Librarian, our Drama and Musicals Program Teacher, our Computer Teacher, our Art Teacher and we support our Rainbow Program. Your property taxes do not pay for these programs. Without your financial support, these teachers and their programs would simply not exist at Bollinger Canyon School.

For the 2009-2010 school year, your BCEF board has pledged over $130,000 to support these programs. These funds are primarily raised at fall registration with suggested donations of $225 per student or $450 per family, parent payroll deductions and corresponding corporate matching gifts, our holiday gift wrap sales, our e-scrip program, our spring dances, and our annual dinner auction scheduled for March, 2010. A huge number of local employers provide dollar for dollar matching, so please check to see if your employer has a donation matching program and double your donation.

Would you like to join our annual dinner auction committee or volunteer in some other way? Your BCEF board meets once every month during the school year and we welcome and encourage you to attend and participate.

On behalf of the Education Fund Board and our children, thank you in advance for your generous support.

Adam Cipriano

President, BCEF
